Genus AI, an artificial intelligence company based in London, has raised $1 million in seed funding led by Picus Capital with participation from several angel investors: Andy Chung of AngelList, Charlie Songhurst, and GoCardless founder Matt Robinson.
The Genus AI is a platform for businesses that uses machine learning to continuously engage with and learn from customers.
The new funds will be used to build up the company’s tech team in London and expand its US sales and marketing operations. The US is the company’s primary market, it said. Viktoras Jucikas, founder and CTO of YPlan, has been appointed executive chairman of Genus AI where he will join his brother Tadas Jucikas who is CEO.
“We believe in using technology to understand people and the world around us. Despite increasing amount of data and computing power organisations are still struggling to engage with customers in an authentic way,” said Tadas.
“At Genus AI we are building a new kind of artificial intelligence system which helps us inform and have a positive impact on the real world,” he said.
