Online lighting retailer Lampenwelt raises funding from Project A and 3i

Lampenwelt, an online retailer for lighting fixtures, has raised a round of funding from Project A and private equity firm 3i but neither firm has disclosed the amount.

“Our operational capabilities in scaling and improving digital businesses will help the company to reach its full potential and further strengthen its leading position in Europe,” said Ben Fischer, partner at Project A on the investment, which is its third private equity co-investment. It previously backed Onlineprinters and car parts marketplace Kfzteile24.

Lampenwelt was founded in 2004 and now employs 300 people in Europe. The new round of funding will be invested in online marketing, business intelligence, product management, and IT.

“Project A’s operational capabilities make it a perfect fit for us, and we look forward to working closely with their team of experts to make our ambitious vision for Lampenwelt a reality,” said Thomas Rebmann, CEO of Lampenwelt.
