Mixmax raises $10.35 million to make email better for businesses

Sales and communication automation platform Mixmax has raised $10.35 million led by Creandum with participation from SaaStr’s Jason Lemkin and previous backers Michael Dearing, Harrison Metal, and Floodgate.

Founded by a Swedish entrepreneurs, the company develops a tool for businesses to better manage email communications, workflow, scheduling, and leads that integrates with existing CRM products. Currently it has 10,000 customers, which are mostly small and medium sized businesses.

The solution is fixing email for businesses, claimed CEO Olof Mathé.

“We have solved a simple but all too common problem for people in customer-facing roles - knowing when to talk to which contact and how to reach them most effectively,” he said. “Best of all, you don’t need to change anything in your existing workflow to reap the benefits since we sit on top of your existing tool chain.”

According to the company, it has not yet spent any money on marketing. It will be investing the new Series A funds into building its team from 18 to 50 and developing a new mobile interface.

“Many customers think of Mixmax as their chief of staff, and we look forward to giving both you and your entire team the intelligent, data-driven advice you need to grow your business,” added Mathé.

Mixmax previously raised a $1.5 million seed round in 2015 and is now based in San Francisco.
