French classifieds giant Leboncoin has acquired fashion marketplace Videdressing for an undisclosed price.
Founded in 2009, Videdressing is a marketplace for buying or reselling second-hand fashion and luxury items, connecting all parties and offering a payment system, anti-fraud measures and more.
Last year, the company achieved a turnover of approximately 35 million euros from sales commissions, from 25,000 transactions and 3 million monthly visitors. Buyer Leboncoin is currently owned by Scandinavian media conglomerate Schibsted, and booked 257 million euros in revenue in 2017.
The move is strategic for Leboncoin, immediately turning it into a significant player in the online fashion market in France, banking on Videdressing’s brand, transactional and marketplace expertise and technology to help it grow.
According to Crunchbase, Videdressing raised just under €19 million from the likes of Global Founders Capital, Earlybird, DN Capital and Piton Capital.
