Israeli rail cybersecurity startup Cylus raises $12 million

Tel Aviv-based railways cybersecurity company Cylus has secured $12 million from Cyient, Cerca Partners, GlenRock, and FollowTheSeed. In total, the startup has raised $17 million to date.

“Rail systems have become technologically advanced, and the threat of cyberattacks is constantly growing,” said Amir Levintal, CEO and Co-founder of Cylus. “We have already established strong relationships with key players in the rail industry and growing partnerships with leading rail operators.”

Cylus has developed CylusOne, a cybersecurity solution for rail and metro operators. The system detects threats “in the signalling and control networks, trackside and onboard, facilitating a timely and effective response before any harm is done,” the company said in a statement.
