UK-based SaaS startup Blaize scores £2.5 million in funding to help publishers scale up subscriptions

London-based Blaize has raised £2.5 million in a seed financing round led by Spain-born Nauta Capital to help publisher customers like NewsCorp and brands to gain more subscribers through its digital identity and paywall technology.

As per usual, the cash influx will serve the further development of the SaaS startup's platform and technology, international expansion and hiring efforts. Nauta's London-based GP Carles Ferrer will be joining Blaize’s board to help out with that.

Founded in 2017, Blaize basically enables businesses - mostly publishers, brands and e-commerce companies - to design and roll out what it refers to as 'personalised digital subscription journeys'. Its technology allows (even non-technical) teams to utilise code-free drag-and-drop functionality in order to test and deliver trial, sell and up-sell experiences in real-time.

"The rapid growth of the subscription economy means companies across all industries must transition from static, 'one-size fits all' digital journeys to personalised unique experiences for every consumer. For media, this need is compounded by a massive decline in advertising revenue. Blaize makes it possible to address these challenges head-on at speed and at scale," comments James Henderson, the company's co-founder and CEO.
