Flawless App, a Kyiv-born mobile design startup, has been acquired by Abstract, a Bay Area design delivery platform. Details of the deal were not disclosed. Mobile engineers use the Flawless app to remove visual bugs in mobile applications, and to compare an app's design to its actual appearance. The Ukranian startup created other resources as well, such as Reduce for compressing huge design files, Flawless Feedback for commenting on real-life iOS apps, and cultivated community-driven initiatives among developers. Part of that initiative is the startup’s open-source library of design tools called “Awesome Design Tools,” which contains over 2,000 design products. Flawless was launched in April 2015 by two young, first-time entrepreneurs, Lisa Dziuba and Ahmed Sulaiman. In 2018 the startup raised its first funding, a round from angel investor Oleksandr Kosovan, and participated in the Techstars London accelerator program. Co-founder Lisa Dziuba was named Product Hunt Maker of the Year Runner-Up. Now she will be known as the first female founder in Ukraine to build and lead a tech startup to acquisition. From now on, the Flawless team will work alongside Abstract’s engineering, product, and marketing teams to build the Abstract SDK and related extensions, and to support the developer experience both within Abstract and the wider developer community.
