Stockholm-based Airmee, provider of an AI-based “last mile” delivery platform, has raised €4.75 million from Swedish VC J12 Ventures. Due to the increase in home deliveries during the coronavirus pandemic, the company reached its end-of-year 2020 goals for daily volume as early as the second quarter, according to founder and CEO Julian Lee.
Airmee is a sustainability-minded logistics startup that partners with retail companies and courier services to make efficient deliveries in urban areas. Clients run the gamut, from pharmacies, such as Apotea and Meds, to e-retailers such as Babyshop, Lyko and Mathem.
The Nordic startup has been previously backed by Alfvén & Didrikson (who led a €3.7 million round last year), Creades, Spotify investor Felix Hagnö's investment company Trift and Izettle founders Jacob De Geer and Magnus Nilsson. Some of these investors participated in the latest round as well. In a press release, Lee said the new funding will go toward “growth and profitability on all fronts”.
