Israeli cloud security startup Ermetic raises $17 million Series A from Accel, three months after launch

Three months after emerging from stealth mode with $10 million, Israeli cloud security startup Ermetic has raised another $17.25 million, this time from Accel. The Series A round was also joined by seed investors Glilot Capital Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and Target Global. Operating in an emerging market it calls “Cloud Infrastructure Entitlements Management”, the startup has built a platform that automatically discovers all human and machine identities in the cloud, then analyses their entitlements, roles and policies to determine whether secure access can be granted. “Until now, customers have been using retrofitted tools to try to manage cloud infrastructure accounts and entitlements. Ermetic has developed a cloud native alternative that uses analytics to consistently manage permissions and enforce least-privilege access,” explains Shai Morag, CEO of Ermetic.

As part of the deal, Accel partner Andrei Brasoveanu has joined the company’s board of directors. The investment will go toward typical scaling initiatives: research & development, go-to-market plans, sales, marketing and customer support.
