Chemnitz-based employee engagement firm Staffbase has received $145 million in a financing round led by growth equity firm General Atlantic.
Existing investors Insight Partners and e.ventures also participated with KIZOO and Capnamic Ventures remaining invested. As part of the deal Achim Berg, Operating Partner at General Atlantic and President of Bitkom will join the Staffbase advisory board.
The partnership is expected to strengthen Staffbase’s position in the employee engagement space through international growth.
Founded in 2014, Staffbase provides employers with a suite of communications tools including an employee app and internal newsletter and intranet platforms. Staffbase is currently in use by over 8 million people worldwide, and counts organisations such as Adidas, Audi, BHP, Ikea, Johns Hopkins University, and Volvo amongst its client base.
The firm currently has a workforce of 450 employees in 11 locations across the globe including its headquarters in Chemnitz, London, New York, Vancouver, Amsterdam, and Berlin.
This strategic partnership comes just on the heels of Staffbase’s merger with Canada’s leading internal comms provider Bananatag.
“Our vision is to unite all of a company’s employees through strong internal communications and a shared mission. To bring this about, we provide managers and communications specialists at enterprise companies with the leading digital platform for successful employee communications – a platform that we are expanding very rapidly,” comments Staffbase co-founder and CEO Dr. Martin Böhringer.
