Berlin’s collaborative presentation platform Pitch raises $85 million in Series B funding

Berlin-based collaborative presentation platform Pitch has raised $85 million in a Series B round led by Lakestar and, yep you guessed it, Tiger Global. The round also saw participation from existing investors Index Ventures and Thrive Capital. Pitch has indicated that the funding will be used to further develop the core tech and product offering to encompass the entire presentation workflow as well as expand the global team size. To date, the firm has raised $135 million. As part of the deal, Stephen Nundy from Lakestar will join the Pitch board.

“The exciting vision that Christian and the team at Pitch have is beyond just being a superior alternative to legacy presentation software," says Nundy. "A reimagining of the entire workflow surrounding presentations is very much overdue, and when coupled with the ability to harness new data and media integrations, Pitch will lead the way in changing how stories are told.”

Founded in 2018 by the team behind one of Berlin’s original darlings, Wunderlist, Pitch focuses on real-time collaboration, human-centric design features, and smart(er) workflows that are aimed at turning the dreaded, “Ok, let’s put this presentation together,” task into the, “Let’s DO this presentation! Together!” activity.

“Our mission at Pitch is to enable every team’s best thinking,” says founder and CEO Christian Reber. “It’s been six months since we launched to the world, and tens of thousands of teams have already discovered how easy it is to create, extend its software platform across the entire presentation workflow.”

In a short amount of time, Pitch has picked up some sizeable names and numbers. The company points to tens of thousands of teams creating some 125,000 workspaces on the platform, with accounts including Intercom, Superhuman and Notion.

The service is available as both free and paid plans. When user ponies up with the cash, they have access to Pitch Pro, allowing for unlimited storage, video uploads, version history, and advanced permissioning.
