Holded now held by Visma for more than €120 million

Scandinavian accounting and admin software maker Visma has acquired Holded, an ERP and accounting platform hailing from Barcelona for more than €120 million (with the traditional accompanying earn out numbers). With the acquisition, Holded will continue to operate as an independent entity, with founders Javi Fondevila and Bernat Ripoll staying on board.

An interesting development for Holded, as not just 4 months prior, they took on €15 million in a Series B round. For Visma, another acquisition on the pile is nothing new, as we reported last year, as of August 2020, it had snapped up Circle Software, Onguard, FirstAgenda, 1st Web, Draftit, Specter, Nmbrs, Zetech and Yuki.

Holded was founded in 2016, and in less than five years gone from zero to hero, claiming to be the fastest-growing software business in their home market, and now serving 80,000 customers.

A key ingredient to its success, Holded offers Small to Sedium Enterprises (SME’s) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools. With features typically reserved for their bigger sisters and brothers, SMEs can start planning the route to MBE’s much earlier with Holded.

“We are highly impressed with what Holded has accomplished. They’ve built a robust product with satisfied customers, an engaged team and a very professional way of running the business. We see that Holded is the future of accounting in their market and we couldn’t miss this opportunity to join forces with such a strong partner and set foot in Spain,” commented Visma CEO Merete Hverven.
