Pushing boundaries of VR industry, Paris-based Lynx brings home $4 million

Paris-based virtual and augmented reality company Lynx has raised $4 million in funding. The Series A investment was led by Somnium Space with participation of investors involved in the AR and VR field, including ex-Meta and Google engineers.

Stan Larroque, founder and CEO of Lynx said: “We have this opportunity right here to create the European Champion of Mixed Reality with our work at Lynx, supported by a vibrant community of users and developers desperate to see alternatives to Big Tech companies products and their closed ecosystems.

Artur Sychov, founder and CEO of Somnium, who joins the board of directors of the company, added: “We believe in the future of open and decentralised Metaverse which empowers its users. This includes software and even hardware. Lynx has created an extraordinary AR/VR device (Lynx-r) with openness to change the way we all think and interact with this market category.”

The startup creates high performance Virtual and Augmented Reality devices with an ecosystem based on openness and privacy. Its first product, Lynx R-1, is a Mixed Reality device.
