The partnership hopes to capitalise on the appetite for AI investments in the UK.
Microsoft and Seedrs launch new AI accelerator

Seedrs, Europe’s leading private investing platform, has partnered with Microsoft to launch SERIES AI, an AI-focused accelerator for startups.

The accelerator will last four weeks from May 1 2024 and offer insight, resources and mentorship for emerging founders to develop AI software, fine-tune their business strategy and improve pitch decks. The programme will conclude with a Pitching Demo Day for six finalists featuring two of the UK’s leading VCs (Vektor Partners and SFC) where the selected businesses will have the chance to pitch their business in front of a room of VCs, investors and other experts.

Seeds has recently been acquired by Republic, making it the largest private investing platform in the world with over 2,100 deals, closed since its founding in 2012.

John Lake, Managing Director at Seedrs said:

“Over the last few years, the UK has emerged as a world leader in artificial intelligence. Our thriving ecosystem benefits from an excellent talent pool fuelled by some of the world’s best STEM universities and a sympathetic regulatory environment, so it’s no surprise it was the second most funded sector in the UK last year.

"At Seedrs, we know that investors are backing AI and founders need to be equipped to capitalise. In partnership with Microsoft we’re extremely excited to provide a lucky few businesses with the insights and expertise they need to develop their AI products and access vital growth capital.”

Microsoft in November pledged to invest £2.5bn in British AI infrastructure.
