Vay partners with PEUGEOT to unveil remote driving trial

Vay, a German startup developing autonomous driving software, has partnered with PEUGEOT.

The main use cases for remote driving technology are projected to be short-distance scenarios such as last-mile delivery of goods, vehicle flow management in logistics centers, and car sharing or rental, providing on-demand valet services for vehicle delivery and parking.

Vay and PEUGEOT will explore use-cases for last-mile delivery, assessing the technology with a focus on B2B customers - potentially spanning vehicle flow management in logistics centers, and car sharing or rental, providing on-demand valet services for vehicle delivery and parking.

PEUGEOT and Vay have already equipped a PEUGEOT E-308 passenger vehicle with teledriving technology; Vay’s cars have driven on public roads in the US and Europe without a human inside the car.
