Tiptapp, the Swedish go-to solution when you need help moving things in or out of your home, today announced €1 million in funding dedicated to expanding its marketing initiatives in Berlin and across Germany. This brings the company's funding to over €8.5 million.

Tiptapp’s unique app makes life easier for urban residents by connecting users who need help moving, recycling, or delivering items with those who have extra space in their vehicles.

By reducing the need for single-purpose car trips, Tiptapp not only simplifies everyday logistics but also promotes sustainability, contributing to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

Since its launch in 2016, Tiptapp has facilitated over 1.27 million pickups across Europe. The platform’s strong commitment to sustainability and community-building has resulted in the saving of 774,000 car rides and a yearly saving of about 51 tons of CO2 emissions.

“We're proud to already be a profitable company, which gives us the flexibility to choose the best funding strategy to support our growth,” says Tim Bjelkstam, CEO and Co-Founder of Tiptapp.

“This €1 million loan is specifically earmarked for amplifying our marketing efforts in Berlin, ensuring that we can reach more users while maintaining our company’s vision and ownership.”

For over two years and with more than 140.000 downloads across Germany, Tiptapp has partnered with Berliner Stadtreinigungsbetriebe (BSR), the city's leading waste management company, to simplify the recycling process for Berliners.

This collaboration allows residents to effortlessly dispose of unwanted items through the Tiptapp platform, contributing to a cleaner and less car dependent city. The success of this partnership in Berlin also serves as a model for expanding similar services across the broader German market and other European markets.

The non-dilutive Growth Loan, accessed via Gilion, will empower Tiptapp to broaden its reach and amplify its impact in the region.

"As a fellow Berliner, I am thrilled that we are supporting Tiptapp as they take a significant step towards a greener, better, and cleaner Berlin. Tiptapp empowers residents to responsibly dispose of unwanted items, reducing waste and promoting recycling right from our doorsteps. Through close collaboration with local partners like BSR, they are not only streamlining waste management but also strengthening our community's commitment to sustainability," says Mariam Koorang, Head of Germany at Gilion.

With the new funding, Tiptapp plans to launch a series of targeted marketing campaigns designed to increase brand awareness and user adoption in Berlin. These efforts will build on the company’s proven track record of success across social media, out-of-home advertising, and events, as seen in its other markets across Sweden, the UK, and Portugal.
