German company Quantum Systems has acquired AirRobot. This strategic acquisition expands Quantum Systems' product portfolio in drone technology and strengthens technological sovereignty for the Bundeswehr and European partners.
Founded in 2015, Quantum Systems is at the forefront of AI-powered aerial robotics, developing a family of smart systems that go far beyond traditional drones. Its advanced fixed-wing, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS), combined with its Drone Port solution, deliver automated actionable aerial intelligence.
AirRobot is a German company specializing in compact, robust UAV solutions for military and governmental applications.
For 20 years, AirRobot has been developing and manufacturing drone systems for reconnaissance and surveillance, which are used by the Bundeswehr and police, among others.
Specifically, AirRobot is the main supplier for the Bundeswehr's MIKADO II program (2022- 2032) and a Tier-1 supplier for Lockheed Martin in the TIQUILA program (2023- 2033) of the UK Ministry of Defense.
With its acquisition of AirRobot, Quantum Systems will extend its offerings to include copter drones. Further, it ensures the continuity of development, production, and maintenance activities, primarily focusing on securing an uninterrupted supply to the Bundeswehr under the MIKADO program.
"This acquisition strengthens our position as an innovative provider of drone technologies for defense and security applications," says Sven Kruck, Managing Director of Quantum Systems.
"We combine our competencies and simultaneously secure strategically important supply contracts for our national and international security partners."
"The combination of the strengths of both companies opens up completely new possibilities for us and creates strong synergies for the future of unmanned aviation," says Robert Polok, Managing Director of AirRobot.
"By uniting our technologies, expertise, and innovative power, we will develop even more powerful drone solutions at the highest level – Made in Germany."
