Gousto, a meal recipe delivery startup from the UK, has raised £10 million in new funding from BGF Ventures, Unilever Ventures, MMC Ventures, Angel CoFund, and Barclays to accelerate its growth.
The company said it delivers recipe kits for almost 100,000 meals a week around the UK, which it claims is cheaper (from £3.75 per meal) than supermarkets, and has seen its turnover grow 238% ever year.
Gousto’s food delivery service will reduce food waste, said CEO Timo Boldt, while also offering faster turnaround times for customers.
“The additional funding will allow Gousto to accelerate our efforts to create the very best customer experience, and allow us to achieve our food waste mission. It’s really simple, but this way we please our customers, build a sustainable business, and do good in the world,” said Boldt.
“We have hugely exciting plans for the next 10 years and will relentlessly focus on what customers love.”
As well as this new round of funding, Gousto has previously raised money from angel investors including Celebrity Master Chef contestant Andi Peters and English rugby player Jonny May.
