Vienna-based recruitment startup JobRocker has raised €1 million in Series A funding led by Munich fund Surplus Invest to start expanding its operations.

The online job search portal connects users’ CVs with possible job openings by algorithm at first and then through further consulting carried out by JobRocker to connect the employer and potential employee. It currently has 30,000 users with around 300 companies, including German supermarket chain Metro.

The new funds will be invested in further product development and expanding its team by opening offices in Germany, in Munich, Berlin, and Frankfurt.

This funding round marks the Austrian company’s first significant investment, having previously raised a €150,000 cash injection last year.
