MEDIALAAN, the Belgian media company formerly known as VMMa, has agreed to acquire 100% of VikingCo, the equally Belgian company behind MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) Mobile Vikings.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Founded in 2009, Mobile Vikings, with a strong focus on mobile data plans and innovative products, ammassed some 240,000 customers to date. By joining forces with MEDIALAAN, the owner of multiple TV and radio channels, VikingCo expects to grow its brand awareness and user base.
Frank Bekkers and Koen Desmedt, co-founders of VikingCo and CEO and CFO, respectively, will leave the company, but the rest of the team will stay on.
