Prezi acquires Latvian data visualisation startup Infogram

Prezi, the Hungarian-founded presentation tech platform, has acquired Latvian data visualization startup Infogram. No terms were disclosed.

Infogram provides a cloud-based platform and API for creating charts and graphics and has more than three million users. Joining Prezi will accelerate the company’s next products to market, said Mikko Järvenpää, CEO of Infogram.

Infogram’s data visualisation features will likely be integrated into Prezi’s services for creating presentations. It has been experimenting with several new features of late, including AR.

“Prezi was inspired to unite with Infogram because of our shared mission to help people make better decisions by providing more effective tools for visual communication,” added Peter Arvai, Prezi CEO.

Infogram will remain based in Latvia as a subsidiary of Prezi and serve as the company's Data Visualization Center of Excellence.

Founded in 2012, the Latvian company had raised over $2 million in funding from investors including Point Nine Capital.
