Media asset management company Vidispine, from Sweden, has been acquired by Germany’s Arvato Systems Group, a division of multinational Bertelsmann. No terms were disclosed.
The Stockholm company develops SaaS-based digital media content management systems, mostly for video, with clients throughout the media sector. CEO Erik Åhlin and CTO Isak Jonsson, who founded in the company in 2009, will continue to oversee operations under the Arvato banner.
The products from both companies will be integrated moving forward to take advantage of the growth of cloud based solutions for media management, said Åhlin.
“For us, the Arvato Systems solutions fill many gaps, both in terms of technology and market coverage. Together, we can better support our customers with cloud-based state-of-the-art solutions,” he said.
“By acquiring Vidispine, we as Arvato Systems have taken another step towards the digital future,” commented Matthias Moeller, CEO of Arvato. “Our customers will benefit significantly from the integration of technology, products and expertise from both companies. We can now support them even better on their way to digital transformation and the implementation of new business models.”
