Carpooling in Europe is booming: BlaBlaCar’s Nicolas Brusson shares rides, thoughts (video interview)

Yesterday, I had the chance to catch up with BlaBlaCar co-founder and COO Nicolas Brusson in Brussels, where the frequent traveler resides.

BlaBlaCar connects car owners with people who are interested in paying a fee to share a long-distance ride (mostly between European cities) and facilitates transaction between both parties, taking a cut in the process.

The company now caters to over 6 million members, and has over 1 million users actively using its service every month.

BlaBlaCar is riding the carpooling wave in Europe, but so is one of its main rival,, something I dove a little deeper into right here.
