French food delivery startup Pickles announced that it has raised €2 million. The new funding will allow the startup to expand its team and its delivery area.

Pickles is developing a mobile application dedicated to the delivery of hot and cold dishes made with fresh products. The dishes all arrive in 20 minutes and at an ideal temperature to be served immediately.

The startup will use the funding to recruit more deliverers on permanent contracts. Pickles also plans to optimize its quality of service by improving its in-house, algorithm-based logistics solution that predicts demand and optimizes delivery routes.

These improvements will allow Pickles to increase the number of daily deliveries it makes, and also to extend its service to all Paris by March. The startup will then invest in the expansion of its kitchen to ensure the smooth progress of its growth. The company hopes to export its model to London, and later move on to other European cities.
