It's removal time: Google starts axing search results in Europe under 'right to be forgotten' ruling

The Wall Street Journal reports that Google has begun removing certain search results about a month and a half after a top European court ruled that people have the 'right to be forgotten' on the Internet.

To comply with the ruling, Google had earlier posted an online form that allows European citizens to request that links to "inadequate, irrelevant or no longer relevant" information be removed from its search results. According to various media reports, Google has been inundated with requests.

Important to note, though: the court ruling does not mean that the information in question will be deleted, only the links appearing in Google's search results.
