Drone traffic management software maker Unifly raises €5 million from Japan's Terra Drone

Unifly, a Belgian spin-off company of VITO (Flemish institute for technological research) specialised in aviation software, has secured €5 million from Terra Drone, a major Japanese drone operator and system integrator.

Terra Drone provided 80% of the capital raised, with Qbic and PMV chipping in the rest.

Based in Antwerp, Unifly says it will use the fresh cash to accelerate development of its UTM and drone operations management software, and establish an international sales organisation.

The Series A round comes just a little over a year after Unifly spun off from VITO, and brings total funding to €6.3 million.
