infoShare (11-12 June, Gdańsk, Poland) is shaping up to become an unmissable event in the CEE region

If you work in technology or online media, you'd be well advised to consider a trip to Gdańsk - a ridiculously lovely Polish city on the Baltic coast - in about a month and a half.

On 11 and 12 June, the AMBEREXPO will be home to infoShare, one of the biggest and most important events (billed as a 'tech & new media festival') in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region.

The organisers of infoShare, which held its first edition back in 2007, is expecting over 3,500 attendees from more than 10 countries, up to 100 speakers doing their thing across 5 stages, and 150+ exhibitors.

For the upcoming edition, speakers that have confirmed their attendance already include the likes of Ralf Herbrich (Amazon), Andrea Giammarchi (Twitter), Bryan J. Rollins (JIRA), Jack Franklin (GoCardless), Nicolas Brusson (BlaBlaCar) and loads more - including quite a few investors.

That makes it an interesting place to be for founders of fledgling startups from across Europe, and infoShare is catering to them with a Startup Zone and Contest, which gives them a chance to win €20,000 in cash and up to €1 million in investment.

You can still apply (PDF) for the Startup Contest until the 4th of May.

Aside from the competition, early-stage startups can also get in front of investors, media and big company representatives by signing up for the Startup Expo. The Startup Zone is organised by the Gdańsk Entrepreneurship Incubator STARTER.

Like most of the tech events happening in Europe that are worth traveling for, infoShare is investing heavily in networking opportunities for all attendees. Expect (beach and other) parties, dragon boat racing, morning beach running sessions, dedicated sightseeing trips in Gdańsk, and more shenanigans.

Didn't have a reason to visit Gdańsk in June yet? You do now.

If you'd like to buy a ticket for the event, check out the tiered pricing model that the organisers have come up with: ticket prices range from 0 to 300 euro apiece.
