Represent! Allied For Startups launches first advocacy office in Brussels dedicated to EU startups, hires Lenard Koschwitz

Allied For Startups, a global network of organisations focused on improving the policy environment for startups, is (finally) opening an advocacy office in Brussels, in what it claims a first of its kind.

Brought to life to weigh in on policies that can positively impact startups and grow digital entrepreneurship, Allied For Startups (AFS) also announced the recruitment of a director for European Affairs: Lenard Koschwitz, a former adviser to MEP Monika Hohlmeier.

"There is no doubt that the European Union wants and needs to improve conditions for startups,” AFS founder Melissa Blaustein said in a statement. “We feel that after general affirmations we need to get going to work on concrete results and to allow startups to grow in the EU.”

The office will be set up during the coming weeks and fully operational before legislative work resumes in September, AFS said. Let's hope they can make a difference.
