Israel-based tech startup Parola, a collaborative music platform that promises to enable folks to create, remix and discover music, today launched its first app on iOS, backed by $2 million in seed funding from angel investors. Said investors include Michael Cohen (partner at Capital International), Yanki Margalit (founder of Innodo, Ex-Aladdin chairman and CEO) and Miki Tunis (Senior VP at The Orchard, a Sony Music Entertainment holding).
People can use Parola's app to collaborate on and record tracks by adding vocals and instruments to existing songs, as well as work together on new music.
““Parola is reshaping the way music is created, opening up opportunities for a larger audience of music enthusiasts,” said Ido Ariely, CEO of Parola. "We're transitioning into a new music era, where users can be involved and engaged in every aspect and process of musical creation. We launched Parola as an open music platform, which is similar to open source, that is leveraging the creativity of the crowd."
