French-based workspace booking company Jooxter has raised €1 million in funding from Newfund.

Jooxter's aim is to make offices, meeting rooms and other workspaces smarter and more efficient, allowing customers to optimise both their space and their time. It allows users to search available spaces that fit their needs, book them automatically and easily find them with localisation services.

The company intends to use this first round of funding to invest in R&D, grow its primary market in Europe, and kickstart its international expansion.

CEO Fabien Girerd says the company is striving for "occupancy intelligence" so that workspaces in big cities can be used more responsibly.
