Recruitment platform Talent.io raises €8 million to expand its reach

French startup Talent.io, an IT recruitment platform, has raised €8 million for its expansion plans in France, Germany, and the UK.

The investment comes from two existing investors, Alven Capital and Ventech. It previously raised $2.2 million.

The platform connects IT engineers with companies that are recruiting and allows both parties to communicate over the role and salaries.

Talent.io makes money through subscription fees from the recruiting companies.

Over 4,000 IT professionals and companies including Transferwise, Viagogo and Dyson have all used the platform since it launched in the UK in December, the company said. It was initially launched in France. The new funds will be used to grow its recruiter numbers.

“The rapid expansion of talent.io shows that our model works and proves there is an appetite for a new kind of recruitment platform based on what recruiters and candidates really need,” said cofounder Jonathan Azoulay. “Traditional recruitment agencies and job boards are no longer performing as they should and our IT recruitment platform is taking more market share away from them every day.”
