Belgian firm PieSync raises €2.8 million for its data syncing platform

Belgium’s PieSync, a data syncing service for businesses, has raised €2.8 million led by Fortino Capital with participation from Ark Angels Activator Fund, PMV, and investor Dirk Vermunicht.

PieSync is a SaaS service aimed as businesses for managing contact information through the cloud regardless of application. According to the company, it fills a gap in the market for two-way real time synchronisation of contact data.

“We’re focused on becoming the best solution to help organizations of all sizes to intelligently connect cloud-based business apps without complexity,” said CEO Ewout Meyns. “The partnership with Fortino Capital is an important step forward in executing our vision to become the fastest growing two-way intelligent data synchronization platform for organizations that want to power their business by integrating their cloud apps.”

The Ghent-based company plans to invest the cash in growing its sales and marketing teams and expanding the product commercially. Half of its customer base is in the US.
