HelloWork buys French career guidance startup Diplomeo

Over in France, HelloWork (formerly the RegionsJob group), has acquired Diplomeo for a undisclosed sum.

Founded back in 2012, Diplomeo offers a platform dedicated to guidance in the field of higher education, and the company claims it's already supported 2.5 million students in France.

Hence, the acquisition will enable HelloWork to strengthen its operations to connect students/those of working age with HE institutions/training centres.

As a growing digital player in the French employment and recruitment sector, HelloWork was previously active in the 'continuous education' sector thanks to its MaFormation.fr contact platform.

The company has now decided to expand its operations and to turn its attention to the student guidance market with its buyout of Diplomeo.

The latter currently lists over 46,000 training courses in France and is used by over 28% of undergraduates every year. Diplomeo has been a profitable company since its inception, generating a turnover of €2.6 million in 2018 (with 45 employees).

This latest move follows the HelloWork's acquisition of JobiJoba (job offer aggregator, CV Catcher software, and community job platform) several months ago, prior to which HelloWork had already acquired multi-channel broadcasting company Talentplug in 2014 and recruitment management software program Talent Detection in 2016.

The acquisitive company has also bought stakes in an online player in the personal care services sector, Aladom.fr/jemepropose.com, and the Staffman platform in late 2018.
