Fluzo, a Spanish adtech startup developing audio fingerprinting technology, has raised €1.25 million to expand throughout Europe and into Mexico. The round was led by Adara Ventures and joined by Sabadell Venture Capital, the VC arm of Banco Sabadell. Looking to disrupt market research and audience measurement, the Madrid-based company has developed its own automatic content recognition technology that can identify any audio (TV, radio, online video and online radio), if it is already included in its database. The goal is to give customers “access to cross-media advertising intelligence”. Basically, with Fluzo integrated into a mobile app, a smartphone turns into a passive meter that picks up on any audiovisual content emitted by a nearby device. The company claims its technology is GDPR compliant.
