Berlin-based job platform StepStone acquires Dutch video recruitment software, Cammio

Berlin-based online job platform StepStone has acquired Cammio, a Dutch software for video recruitment. The German company, a subsidiary of Axel Springer, has already been offering Cammio’s video tool to recruiters since last month. With the deal announcement, the Dutch company is integrated “with immediate effect” as part of the StepStone product portfolio. Cammio was founded in 2013 by Walter Hueber (CEO) and Bas Dirkse (CTO) as an employer branding and video recruitment company, long before the remote working trend took such a strong hold. The platform offers digital job interviews and automated video interviews as well as video formats for motivation letters, video pitches and video messaging. These video functions are combined with speech-to-text technology, a scheduling module and AI-driven personality analysis. The company employs a total of 20 employees in Den Haag and Düsseldorf; Hueber will continue to manage the team after the acquisition. Further details of the deal were not disclosed.

“In the future, the entire recruiting process will increasingly take place digitally and via video,”  says StepStone CEO Sebastian Dettmers. “We are pleased that Cammio is now becoming part of the StepStone family. Together we will make recruitment even more flexible, so that talents and companies can find each other quickly and at any time.”
