Micro Focus buys Istanbul-based ATAR Labs to expand its enterprise security services

UK enterprise software company Micro Focus has acquired the entirety of ATAR Labs, a Turkish cybersecurity company known for its security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) technology. Details of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1976, the London-based company has made over a dozen acquisitions to strengthen its offering for enterprise organisations, helping them undergo digital transformation. This deal not only expands its security portfolio, but also its global footprint, as Micro Focus plans to keep the startup’s R&D centers in Turkey.

Founded in 2017, ATAR Labs claims to be Turkey's first and only cybersecurity operations center software, built with the help of a 2.5 million seed investment from Diffusion Capital Partners. The Istanbul-based startup also claims to be the country’s first acquisition in the sector and hopes it will “create opportunities to further enhance the software and product development market” in the region.
