Infoshare, the biggest tech and startup event in the CEE region, is back - in person - this year

Heralded as the CEE region's biggest tech and startup event, Infoshare returns with a two-day in-person event in the AmberExpo space in Gdansk, Poland on October 14-15. With over 7,500 attendees at the online event last year, this year the event will bring together over 150 speakers, and just as many speeches and workshops.

Participants can choose to attend in-person or online, and will have access to 5 stages: Inspire, Arena, Marketing, DevTrends, and AdvancedDev. The event has put a focus on speaking to 5 different audiences – developer, marketer, executive, investor, and startupper.

With major networking opportunities built into the event, Infoshare seeks to connect professionals from diverse backgrounds through through their matchmaking tool (available online and in-person starting from October 11th), the Welcome Dinner and Sunset Leaders' Boat Trip for investors and executives, the Before Party, the Great Networking Party with a concert in the Stary Maneż event space, and the After Party.

Speakers at this year's event include seasoned Infoshare veterans, as well as new-comers. Infoshare has come out swinging with talks from Formula 1, Spotify, a Theranos whistleblower, Smashing Magazine editor-in-chief, and more:

  • Rob Smedley – Formula 1 technical expert
  • Erika Cheung – Executive Director of Ethics in Entrepreneurship and Theranos whistleblower
  • Craig Spence – Software Engineer at Spotify
  • David Polgar – pioneering tech ethicist, Responsible Tech advocate
  • Johannes Lenhard – ethnographer of venture capital and homelessness, lecturer and researcher at the University of Cambridge
  • Vitaly Friedman – the editor-in-chief and creative lead of Smashing Magazine and front-end/UX consultant
  • Brittany Kaiser – Cambridge Analytica whistleblower and data rights activist
  • And many more...

Infoshare was first held way back in 2007 as an “after hours event” to bring together devs, innovators, and tech enthusiasts. Their goal has always been to share information regarding the latest technologies, which were projected to be a major influence on society (surprise surprise, they were right!).

Some reviews from previous years at Infoshare include:

  • “Bigger than I expected!” – Thijs Feryn, Varnish Software
  • “Always positively surprised by the massive audience and vibe for this event in the lovely Gdansk.” – Robin Wauters, Tech.eu
  • “Even for an IT greenhorn, many of the topics were presented in a clear and understandable manner.” – Cyprian Łakomy, Prograils

Their first-ever startup pitching event was held in 2014, and this tradition continues today, with 30,000 EUR in cash prizes on the table for winning startups. The first place will take home 20,000 EUR, second place – 7,000 EUR, third place – 3,000 EUR, funded by the City of Gdansk. Event participants will be able to see the 30 startup finalists – whittled down from 300 startups from 46 countries that applied – take the stage to compete for the prizes.
