London’s Molten Ventures has announced a spree of internal promotions and the addition of a new Principal.
Serving formerly as investor and top of the charts when it comes to dealflow, Molten Venture’s Edel Coen has been promoted to the partnership table, now assuming the role of Principal.
Joining Molten in 2018 after a run with Enterprise Ireland and early-stage investor BVP, Coen is attributed as being the driving force behind the accelerated investment cadence conducted at the now seemingly omnipresent Molten Ventures.
Edel will now be focusing on enterprise, deeptech, and digital health investments at Molten.
Holding vice president positions at both Permira and General Atlantic, Nelly Markova joined Molten as a Principal last month and is focusing on vertical SaaS, e-commerce, martech, fintech, and online marketplaces investments for the firm.
And last, but certainly not least, Molten has a new Partner in Christoph Hornung. Having joined Molten in 2020 hailing from a background that includes positions at Rocket Internet, specifically in Asia and Australia, and Seven Ventures, as investment manager, Christoph has been instrumental in driving Molten’s pace in the DACH region.
Moving forward, Christoph will focus on deeptech, consumer internet, financial services, and online marketplaces for Molten.

As our business scales we will continue building this team to be as diverse and expert as possible,” commented Molten Ventures’ CEO Martin Davis. “Christoph, Edel, and Nelly all bring different skills and experience to the table and build on the strengths we already have in the team.”
