Sweden's Freshsound raises fresh funding to the tune of €2 million

Stockholm-based Freshsound’s licensing platform allows entertainment and advertising companies access to licenced music. It uses pricing algorithms and recommendation solutions to help creators quickly access sounds relevant to their content while supporting music creators to make money from their music.

It has just announced it has closed a €2 million Seed funding round. The round has been led by Zenith Venture Capital and Aligned, including angel investment by industry experts Kristina Tunkrans, Erik Segerborg, Gustav Nordlindh, William Olsson and Shiv Prakash.

“Freshsound has a dynamic plan to build its network of customers, and this investment will help them to achieve their goals and change the way in which licensing of commercial music is done today - while helping artists to be more self-sufficient,” says Caroline Cronstedt, co-founder and Head of Investments, Zenith Venture Capital.

The funds will support further development in the Nordic market as Freshsound plans for international expansion.

“Our investors recognise the importance of our mission to transform the rights process for commercial music. This investment round will help Freshsound to build its pool of professional storytellers in advertising and production, increasing the potential for music creators to make money and for the content creators to make even more impactful content. We're excited to continue on our journey into the next phase and bring more users to our cause,” says Stevie Gyasi, Freshsound’s CEO who founded the company in 2021 with Sara Larsson
