Finnish supply chain automation and optimisation platform Relex Solutions has acquired Swedish competitor Optimity. The financials of the deal remain undisclosed.
Backed by BP, Blackstone Group, TCV, EASME, and Summit Partners, The welcoming of Optimity marks Relex’s fifth acquisition, and in so much adds over 80 customers operating in the food and drink sectors, as well as an assorted number working with complex manufacturing processes.
Founded in 2005 and valued at over €5 billion in early 2022, Relex provides end-to-end retail planning solutions aimed at helping retailers and brands reduce waste, costs, and manual operations by automation and optimising an array of functions.
As is de facto, Relex’s AI-enhanced services can optimise demand forecasting and automate restocking processes with pinpoint accuracy, ultimately maximising customers’ supply chains.
Through the acquisition of Optimity, Relex now adds the formers’ supply chain planning software to its roster including enhanced capabilities in the areas of production planning and scheduling, network balancing, as well as distribution and purchase planning.
Relex co-founder and group CEO Mikko Kärkkäinen shared:
