Specter, the Belgian manufacturer of speed pedelecs has raised €2 million in fresh capital.
Speed pedelecs are electric bikes with powerful motors that traditionally assist up to 45 km/h.
Specter currently offers four models, including long-range variants with an extended range of up to 170 kilometres, dual-wheel drive, and an impressive combined power output, making them suitable for longer journeys.
Specter speed pedelecs are hand-assembled in East Flanders (Belgium).
Fundracer Capital joins existing partners with extensive experience in the micromobility and cycling industries. Big names such as René Wiertz (ex-3T), Andy Ording (ex-ZIPP), and Gérard Vroomen (ex-Cervélo) will advise Specter and help expand their distribution network.
“We are very excited to enter this new phase for Specter,” says Maarten Baert, founder and CEO of Specter. “
Together with our current and new partners, we are looking further beyond our borders. We aim to both strengthen and deepen our distribution network, while continuing to invest in R&D and expanding our product range.”
With the capital injection, Specter aims to expand further across Europe and is also considering the United States. Currently, Specter operates in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
