Players 1st raises €1.3M for golf club improvement platform

Golf platform company Players 1st has raised €1.3 million in funding from Scale Capital.

The Danish software company Players 1st has developed a digital platform used by 2,000 golf clubs globally. The core product is a questionnaire that helps the clubs learn about their members' experiences and where the members think the clubs can improve.

The goal is to make members more satisfied with their association with the individual clubs, so that they stay with them longer.

The software company's customer list counts around 2,000 golf clubs globally, including leading golf clubs in the US.

Since the company's establishment in 2012, ten million surveys have been sent through the platform. Surveys are described as "the key to turning satisfied golfers into a profitable business."

According to Lars Jensen, co-founder and partner in Scale Capital:

"We believe that we can help the company develop into a major international player in the world of golf.

We see ourselves as the natural partner, and we look forward to lifting Players 1st to new heights in the United States.”

According to Morten Bisgaard, CEO of Players 1st:

"With fresh capital and new American partnerships, we are well equipped to make a real difference globally.

It is important to emphasise that golfers is a target group with a very high purchase power, and we will continue to focus on innovation, quality and a first-class experience for golfers all over the world.”

The investment was made through Scale Capital's third fund, Scale Capital Fund III, a €54M fund dedicated to investing in Nordic and German B2B tech startups at Seed and Series A and helping them succeed in the US.
