Helsinki-based local commerce platform Wolt is partnering with telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom to bring its subscription service Wolt+ to customers across seven European markets.
The partnership will initially launch in Croatia and expand to six more countries: Austria, Czechia, Hungary, North Macedonia, Poland, and Slovakia, in the coming months.
The move reflects a growing trend in which telecom companies are leveraging lifestyle partnerships to deepen engagement with subscribers and expand beyond their traditional offerings.
For Wolt, which merged with U.S. based DoorDash in 2022, the tie-up provides an opportunity to broaden the reach of its subscription service and further cement its position in the competitive European delivery market.
While Wolt operates in over 30 countries, Central and Eastern Europe have become increasingly important battlegrounds as demand for local delivery services continues to grow.
“Wolt and Deutsche Telekom share a similar approach to putting customers first and being open to trying new ideas,” said Miki Kuusi, Co-Founder & CEO of Wolt. “That’s why we’re excited to partner with them – to bring even more value and simplicity to customers’ everyday lives. By integrating Wolt+ for Deutsche Telekom’s customers across Europe, we’re making local commerce more accessible, affordable, and convenient for millions of people. Together, we’re making it easier than ever to enjoy the best of what your city has to offer - right at your fingertips.”
Dominique Leroy, Deutsche Telekom’s Board Member for Europe, emphasized the company’s broader push into lifestyle services: “Our partnership with Wolt focuses on what matters most - providing tangible value to our customers. By integrating Wolt into Magenta Moments, we’re delivering meaningful lifestyle experiences across our European markets. It’s another step in our ambition to go beyond connectivity and enrich the lives of those we serve.”
As consumers become more selective about their digital spending, bundled subscription perks are increasingly used to drive customer loyalty across industries.
