Omnes Capital has raised €112 million at first close of Omnes Real Tech 2, its second fund supporting European deeptech scale-ups
Backed by various European institutional investors (Bpifrance, France 2030, the European Investment Fund - particularly via the Defence mandate of the InvestEU programme - BNP Paribas, Crédit Agricole Assurances) and several family offices, this fund has been designed to support fast-growing European deeptech scale-ups.
This new early growth deeptech fund follows the previous fund in the series, which invested in The Exploration Company, Sekoia.io, Quantum Systems, and Quandela — startups that have all become industry references in their respective fields.
For this first close, the fund is undertaking a first investment in the German company ARX Robotics, specialised in unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) for the defence industry.
Omnes Real Tech 2 is designed to support European deeptech companies throughout their early growth phase - a key stage in their evolution toward scalable industrial and business models. The fund will focus on investing in foundational sectors, including defence and security, AI, new space, quantum technology, electronic components, and advanced materials. It is the first fund in Europe to benefit from the European Union's defence mandate.
The deeptech market is experiencing very strong growth, with over € 27 billion raised by deeptech startups in Europe last year, for a growth rate of 18 per cent. In this context, the Omnes team will continue to implement its strategy, built on diversified sector and geographic exposure, with a particular focus on Germany and Italy. The strategy is designed to also provide continued support across several phases of a company’s development, including follow-on investments.
The team benefits from a European network of deeptech entrepreneurs and sector experts, built over 20 years, which enables the fund to select and partner with the most promising projects on the market.
According to Michel de Lempdes, Managing Partner at Omnes Capital:
“With world-leading scientific research, a new generation of talented and ambitious entrepreneurs, and funding mechanisms backed by all European countries,
Europe is well equipped to address today’s challenges in key sectors such as defence, industry, health and energy”
Marc Wietfeld, CEO of ARX Robotics, shared:
“In such a demanding industry as defence, it is essential to be able to count on investors who understand our industrial and technological challenges.
The support of Omnes, through its Omnes Real Tech 2 fund, is enabling us to accelerate our industrial scale-up and consolidate our position as a European leader in unmanned ground vehicles”.
The fund, which is still actively being raised, will reach final close in 2026.
