Technology company Veridue has raised $4 million in pre-seed funding to expand its due diligence and M&A platform for renewable energy and data centre transactions. The round was led by Episode 1 Ventures, with participation from HTGF and Pi Labs, alongside industry investors including Aurora Energy Research co-founder Cameron Hepburn and former QuantumBlack CEO Jeremy Palmer.
Founded in 2024 by Daniel Csonth and Xander van denEelaart, Veridue is developing an AI-powered platform designed to automate and accelerate due diligence and transaction workflows for energy infrastructure projects.
Veridue is targeting the complex processes involved in financing, acquiring and selling renewable energy and data centre assets. Growing demand for renewable energy, electrification, data centre capacity and energy security is bringing more infrastructure projects to market, while investors and independent power producers (IPPs) are evaluating larger pipelines of potential acquisitions.
At the same time, grid connection delays, planning risks and long development timelines are making ready-to-build and operating assets more attractive. Hybrid projects combining technologies such as solar or wind with battery energy storage systems are adding further complexity, alongside merchant exposure, regulatory changes and more sophisticated revenue models.
Veridue brings deal origination, screening, data rooms, Q&A, due diligence and investment committee materials into a single platform. For investors, IPPs, lenders and insurers, it provides pipeline management, deal recommendations based on investment criteria and due diligence covering areas including project maturity.
The company says the platform can help buyers assess significantly more opportunities and complete parts of the diligence process within hours rather than weeks.
For developers and sellers, the platform provides a data room that automatically organises documents and generates materials including investment-readiness reports, vendor due diligence reports and transaction teasers. The tools are intended to help projects reach investment readiness and identify potential issues earlier in the transaction process.
We built Veridue as the solution we wished we had when we were the ones carrying the risk on a decision. It is not simply a chatbot pointed at a data room. It is AI trained on a proprietary dataset of real deals and their diligence outcomes, running on our own purpose-built agent layer to ensure results are deterministic with 100% traceable accuracy,
said Daniel Csonth, founder and CEO of Veridue.
Timo Bertsch, Investment Manager at HTGF, added:
The infrastructure Europe needs — renewables, data centres, grid capacity — represents one of the most critical buildouts of our generation. Capital is ready. Projects are in the pipeline. What's been missing is the ability to move deals at the pace the moment demands. Veridue is fixing exactly that.
The funding will support the rollout of Veridue's platform for buyers, investors, lenders and project developers across energy infrastructure transactions.
