Israeli software infrastructure protection startup Aqua Security raises $30 million

Israeli-born startup Aqua Security, which provides security solutions for app infrastructure, has landed $30 million in a funding round led by Greenspring Associates. Aqua’s existing investors – Insight Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and TLV Partners, — also participated in the deal, which brings the total amount raised by Aqua to $130 million.

The company explains its product as something that “bridges the gap between DevOps and security,” providing protection for “cloud-native, container-based and serverless applications and infrastructure.”

Aqua claims to have more than doubled its revenue and headcount over the last 12 months. It counts more than 400 customers working in various sectors, from finance to aerospace and hospitality.

Last year, the company also acquired US-based Cloudsploit and introduced its SaaS offering, Aqua CSPM (which stands for Cloud Security Posture Management). The second SaaS product, Aqua Dynamic Threat Analysis, was introduced in April 2020.
