German software Demodesk gets $8 million to help sales teams close deals online

Demodesk, a Munich-based software that helps sales teams close their deals online, has raised $8 million in a round led by Balderton Capital, with participation from Target Global and Funders Club.

The screen-sharing tools on Zoom and the like just don’t cut it, claims the German startup. Demodesk is an online meeting tool created specifically for inside sales and customer service teams. Anyone on the call can interact with the website or software being shared on the browser-based virtual display, as if the page was on their own screen.

Not only does the software help with the actual sales call, but it offers automatic scheduling, CRM logging and rep analytics.

Founded in 2017, the startup was a member of Y Combinator Winter 2019. Now the team serves 150 customers across Europe and the US, including Treatwell, Personio and Forto, from offices in Munich and San Francisco. The fresh funding will go toward product development and scaling the business.
