Cologne-based coaching startup Greator secures funding

Cologne-based coaching startup Greator has raised a second round of funding from HV Holtzbrinck Ventures landing somewhere “in the mid-seven-digit million euro range”. The fresh capital will go to internationalization and launching the Greator app.

The German company, which changed its name from GEDANKENtanken this past May, was founded by Dr. Stefan Frädrich in 2012 and has been led by CEO Alexander Müller since 2015. Over the years, it has built a coaching platform, content library and online community that revolves around self-development. The online community sometimes gets together in real life. In addition to the tech platform and coaching network, the company runs its own branded events, including the annual Greator Festival in Cologne. Though this year’s is cancelled, the next will take place at the end of 2021 — and the company forecasts 50,000 attendees. Commenting on the round, Müller said: "Thanks to our focus on the digital product strategy, we were able to exceed our goals during the corona crisis with a great team effort and now, with the new investment, we have the opportunity to approach the internationalization and development of our tech platform Harmonie in an even more targeted manner.” The company says it’s hired 25 new employees during the pandemic and aims to hire more, specifically in content creation, business intelligence, software engineering and product management.
