Hamburg’s prioritisation and roadmapping tool airfocus has raised $5 million in a Series A round led by XAnge. The round also saw participation from seed round lead Nauta Capital. As part of the deal Bernhard Schmid and Arnaud Baraër from XAnge joining the company’s board. To date, airfocus has raised close to $8 million over three rounds.

In a world where simply releasing more and more features simply just doesn’t cut it, the ability to define and implement a product strategy can either make or break a company. Founded in 2017 by Malte Scholz, Christian Hoffmeister, and Valentin Firak, airfocus provides a modular platform for product teams to collaborate and manage these initiatives.

Resting on top of a variety of tools dev teams already use, Jira, Trello, GitHub, Slack, or Intercom, airfocus allows for teams to pick and choose modules that best fit into their workflow including feedback handling, insights management, prioritisation, roadmapping, and collaborative decision-making.

Over the course of the pandemic, airfocus saw its customer base and revenues triple, as remote collaboration became the de facto method of work. The company cites  Shopify, Bird, and The Washington Post as those who have joined its ranks.

“It seems unthinkable that in this era of product-centricity and remote work, the teams responsible for bringing software to life don’t have a central place to organize and share their work. But the reality is that product teams are stuck between developer tools, inefficient spreadsheets, and rigid systems that dictate workflows, which never really fit a team’s individual needs,” says CEO Scholz. “That’s why airfocus built a home for products and teams, one that combines product strategy superpowers with modularity.”
