Roughly 20% of Indiegogo funding now going to European projects: CEO Slava Rubin (video interview)

Indiegogo founder and CEO Slava Rubin bills the popular crowdfunding site as "the world's funding platform", but how big is it in Europe? We recently caught up with him in Barcelona and asked him.
Roughly 20% of Indiegogo funding now going to European projects: CEO Slava Rubin (video interview)

At the recent 4YFN conference in Barcelona, we had the pleasure of catching up with Slava Rubin, co-founder and CEO of global crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. We did a quick video interview, of course.

Rubin shared some recent stats and noteworthy campaigns currently running on the platform (such as Flow Hive, $6.7 million raised and counting, and the Sondors Electric Bike with almost $4 million raised), and specifically noted Indiegogo's growth outside the United States.

Although Rubin didn't know exactly how much of the funding that happens on Indiegogo ends up on the bank accounts of European companies, he estimated it at about 20 percent, while the total percentage of non-US projects on the platform is about 35 percent.

For what it's worth, UK-based Anastasia Emmanuel, who is working to get more European tech startups funding their projects on Indiegogo, says she has her hands full so much that she has left her job as video reporter for Tech City News today.

Going back to the video interview, we asked Rubin about the cool things he spotted in Barcelona, and some of the new products Indiegogo announced in the past few months. Enjoy!

(PS: Apologies for the sudden ending, I stupidly ran out of camera storage space.)
